People love you and your product, so why is business so slow? Why aren’t they returning?
Well, the harsh reality is that your employees are killing your business. Though people know, like and trust you, your employees are a different story. And, unfortunately, they’re the face of your business on a daily basis. Does that mean that you need to now be there every minute of the day…NO! But it does mean that you need to accept this as truth and do something about it. If you truly want a successful business, then it’s time to clean house.
I know a number of owners that are great, but when I go into their business, the staff are tolerable, at best. From not smiling, not friendly, no humor, complaining about each other, and more. When you’re ready to clean house, ask a few people that you trust to check out your business and give you a real honest evaluation of what’s happening. Then fix it, either yourself or with the help of a consulting company. Find out what’s the staff’s real motivation to be there. If it’s just the pay/benefits, and/or the experience, there lies your problem. You need people that buy into your vision and passion, because that will come across in their work and in their interactions with the customers.
On the flip side, you may find out that it’s YOU and how you treat your employees. If this is the case, STOP IT NOW! By not showing respect to your staff, they will make it a point to sabotage your business all while you’re paying them.
Just know that if you don’t get this fixed immediately, it doesn’t matter the amount of external marketing you do or spend. Because once the customer comes to your business and experiences your lack luster customer service, they will not return. Internal marketing is just as important, so you fix it now or go bankrupt later…..Your Choice!
